In a legendary World Series performance, the Twins’ Jack Morris finished a 10-inning shutout to earn his fourth win of the postseason. Gene Larkin delivered a pinch-hit RBI single for a walk-off in the bottom of the 10th.

The United States fought two world wars, the Soviet Union grew to dominance and then imploded, diseases were wiped off the earth and technology took us from newfangled automobiles to moon rockets and beyond — and still the Cubs could not win a World Series.

Entering Game Seven of the 2016 World Series at Cleveland’s Progressive Field, both the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians were trying to end long droughts without a championship. The Cubs had not won a World Series in 108 years and “The Curse” continued to surround them. Many Cubs fans blamed Steve Bartman for the team’s collapse in the National League Championship Series in 2003. Others blamed a black cat for running in front of the Cubs dugout during the 1969 season. Most of all, fans blamed their team’s losing on the Billy Goat incident. Before Game Four of the 1945 World Series, a fan was stopped as he attempted to bring a goat into the game. The fan then cursed the Cubs and claimed that they would never win a World Series again.

I was watching game 7 at the Holiday Club with some friends of mine. When Rajai Davis tied it off Chapman, I walked right out of the bar, into the rain, and onto the Red Line (I lived in Rogers Park at the time). I simply couldn’t watch what was happening. I listened to the game on the radio while going up north, got back into my apartment right when the 10th inning was starting and got to see Ben Zobrist take the lead.

The first new area that I started my zombie slaying day off was the Kamchatka, Russia zone. This place is brutal if you don’t think about what you are doing and where you are going. The freezing cold weather adds an element of gameplay where the longer you stay out in the extreme weather, the colder you get. This of course affects your health in a big way if you don’t go and warm up near heaters that have been strategically placed around the map, then your history. It’s a bleak and miserable place but it has some of the best zombie engagements I’ve had in the game. Vatican City in Rome is the other new area in the game. The visual design looks great and the gameplay elements make for some exciting engagements that keep you locked, loaded and on edge all the way through to the end.

World War Z is a game that I played on Game Pass a few years ago with a friend of mine and we had a lot of fun with it. The gameplay loop of killing zombies (known as Zekes in the WWZ universe) in incredibly high numbers with all sorts of big guns and explosives was an absolute blast.
